About Me
Hi, I’m April 👋
I am a nonprofit development and marketing professional on a mission to help small-to-mid-sized organizations build foundations that can’t be broken.
Originally from the US Midwest, I spent 20 years in the Pacific Northwest, where I served for over a decade as a Development and Marketing Director for several different nonprofits. Having worked in-house across multiple organizations, I’ve learned exactly how to turn authentic storytelling and email marketing into meaningful relationships and organizational capital.
I know the mental load that nonprofit leaders carry. When the world feels loud and unstable, your mission deserves a foundation that doesn't shake. I don’t just offer strategy; I offer execution. I am the partner who builds the framework so you can get back to the heart-work of your mission.
My Superpowers:
Engineering Retention: I specialize in engineering your entire relationship pipeline to drastically reduce donor churn. I recently helped a client move from a 33% donor retention rate to a top-tier 66%.
Driving Efficiency: My last three $100K campaigns delivered a 5,900% ROI. I make the process painless, providing you with the tools to establish stability for years to come.
Reclaiming Bandwidth: I build the systems that turn "fundraising dread" into sustainable growth, giving you back the mental space to lead.
A New Perspective
I recently moved abroad with my family, and working internationally gives me a unique, objective vantage point. It also offers a logistical superpower: asynchronous efficiency.
Because I work while the US is asleep, I spend my mornings in deep-focus mode—building your systems, writing your appeals, and analyzing your data. By the time you log on, the work is ready for review. It creates a 24-hour cycle of progress that streamlines your operations and keeps your mission moving forward while you sleep. 😴
The Adventure
When I’m not tidying up a CRM or drafting a 12-week campaign, I’m navigating life abroad with one bearded man and our three growing kids. Life is an adventure, and I believe fundraising should be part of that joy - not a source of dread.
I’ll build the framework.
You do the heart-work.
Let’s get started.
A Partnership Built for Growth
I don’t just fill a seat; I solve specific problems. When you hire a strategic partner, you aren’t just adding a name to your Slack channel—you’re investing in the architecture of your organization’s future.
What this partnership is NOT:
❌ A freelancer waiting for a to-do list
❌ A consultant who drops off a plan and leaves
❌ A part-time hire who requires constant internal management
What it ACTUALLY is:
✅ Director-level expertise: I create the strategy AND execute the work.
✅ An embedded partner: I stay focused on the mission until the goals are met.
✅ Mental-load relief: I take the strategic decision-making off your plate.
The difference? You aren’t managing me. I’m managing the function.
Value is measured in impact, not clock-ins.
Are we a fit?
I think we’d make a great team if:
You are ready for 'New': You’re looking for innovative strategies that break out of the "we’ve always done it this way" box.
You value momentum: You are responsive and ready to hit "go" when the strategy is set.
You are a partner, not a passenger: You’re looking for a high-level guide to steer the ship, but you’re still motivated to keep the engine running.
You’re growth-oriented: You want a lean, cost-effective approach that delivers high impact without the bloat of a traditional agency or full-time staff member.
